Daisy’s Top 5 Polishes

Although Rathy and I both have a pretty enormous collection, there are a few polishes that seem to always make their way into our manicures. We thought it would be nice to share our top 5 polishes of all time. These are polishes that we either use all the time in nail art looks or go-to colors when we just need something we know we can rely on or polishes that hold some sort of sentimental value.

Here are my top 5 of all time (individual swatches plus details in the read more link). :)

Daisy's Top 5 Favorite Polishes Julep Sienna Deborah Lippmann Mermaid's Dream Rainbow Honey Tiny Ruby Picture Polish Imperial China Glaze For Audrey Swatches

China Glaze For Audrey
2 coats plus a top coat
This is the first bottle of nail polish I’ve ever purchased and after so many years, this is by far still the closest to Tiffany’s famous robin’s egg blue I’ve tried. I’ve gone through two bottles of this polish since I bought my first one. This polish reminds me of my friend (who moved to Australia after college) and our manicure nights back in school. I love this one not only for nostalgic reasons, but also because it compliments my wardrobe really well. The formula is pretty good for a creme polish and it looks amazing on my fingers or on my toes.

piCture pOlish Imperial
2 coats plus a top coat
This color is amazing. Truly a stunner. I love the bright neon purple and little gold sparkles. Whenever I wear this color, I just can’t stop staring at my nails. It’s girly but not too girly and pairs wonderfully with neutral outfits. The formula is super easy to work with. It’s clean, smooth, only needs 2 thin coats, dries quickly. The polish dries a little matte, but add 1 layer of top coat and voila! Shiny, neon purple, gold sparkly goodness.

Deborah Lippmann Mermaid’s Dream
3 coats plus a top coat
Deborah Lippmann’s Mermaid collection is by far one of my favorite collections of all time. Each polish is a gorgeous glitter mix and sprinkled with a larger circle glitter. It’s opaque by 2 coats of polish, but I like to use 3 coats to really smooth out all imperfections. Mermaid’s Dream is my favorite from that collection, it feels like I’m wearing mermaid scales on my fingers. Because of the high price tag, I sat around just staring at pictures online of it for the longest time. Rathy was kind enough to purchase this for my birthday. ^_^

Julep Sienna
2 coats plus a top coat
This polish is like liquid gold. A pale liquid gold. The color, shimmer, and sparkles make this polish so freakin gorgeous. The formula is exceptional. You can get a fully opaque look with 2 coats, or if you’re more like me and you don’t really rock plain gold nails, use it for nail art. I love using this in color blocking especially if the other colors have a hint of gold shimmer or glitter. It’s super versatile and pairs really well with virtually any creme polish.

Rainbow Honey Tiny Ruby
2 coats over 1 coat of China Glaze Thunderbird plus 1 coat of top coat
This is by far one of my favorite glitter bombs. It looks great over a coat of dark red polish or as accents. I personally love using this for detailing nail art looks (i.e. House Targaryen Nails & Catching Fire Nails).I love the way the light catches all the glitter in this polish, and it adds so much depth and flare to a manicure.
