I went a little crazy for this month’s Julep Maven box. I decided to pass on the Julep Plie wand, it looks like an interesting product and they partnered with a pretty amazing product design firm, IDEO. Honestly I couldn’t see myself using it long term, I’ve never had a problem with the existing brushes and I have striping brushes for really fine detail work. I’m curious to see what other user’s reactions are towards the wand.
Anyhow… moving on to swatches! Check out the full details in the read more link.
Jules is a really delicate pale pink creme. This is 3 coats + top coat.
Iona is a faded dark purple-blue periwinkle creme. The swatches on Julep make this polish look a little darker than it actually is in person. The formula is great, this is 2 coats plus a top coat. It’s a lovely color and my second favorite of the set.
Kam is a mint green creme. This is 3 coats plus a top coat. I already have another mint that’s similar to this one (though, Kam is slightly more green), I probably could have skipped this one. For those that don’t have a good mint color yet, this one isn’t too bad. (Personally Julep Dianna is one of my favorite mint colors, but the formula can be a real stickler.)
Paulette is a light purple/lavender polish with a yellow-gold shimmer. This is 2 coats plus a top coat. It’s perfect for spring and would look great with a lighter palette outfit. This is probably in my top 3 for this month’s maven colors.
Saaya is a peachy orange with a soft yellow-orange shimmer. This is two coats plus a top coat. The color reminds me a bit of a creamsicle, it’s very cute.
Laree is a gorgeous hot pink with a gold-orange shimmer undertone. This is 2 coats plus a top coat. This is my favorite of the bunch. I absolutely adore this color, so perfect for summer.
Overall, I’m really loving these subtle duo-color shimmer polishes Julep has been doing these last two months. Hoping there will be one in turquoise or blue soon. :-)
