I teamed up with the wonderful Maja of MllrDesign (Check out her nail art, she is crazy good!) to create twin nails featuring Coldplay’s Mylo Xyloto album cover. This one has been sitting in the inspiration folder for awhile and I’ve been intimidated by the complexity to try it out. Thanks to Maja, I’ve finally overcome my fears!
Here is a solo shot of mine.
I started with a black base (China Glaze Liquid Leather + piCture pOlish Starry Night). Then I used a combination of sponging paint and painting the color directly on to create the graffiti effect. I have a full list of colors in the full post (click read more ). (I’m a little embarrassed to admit that after all the ones listed, it has barely made a dent in my polish collection. )
I’m quite proud of the graffiti part on my thumb and index finger. This isn’t an exact replica of Coldplay’s Mylo Xyloto graffiti, but I think I captured the essence of it pretty well. I’m especially happy with how vibrant the colors came out.
