Rathy’s Top 5 Polishes

I didn’t think I’d own as many polishes as I do, but it just started accumulating! >_< However I do have a few favorites and go-tos when it comes down to it. Nothing too crazy actually. I love my basics.

Here are my top 5! (individual swatches plus details in the read more link)

Deborah Lippmann Fashion
3 coats plus a top coat
I seriously don’t know how many times I’ve used this nude taupe crème polish. It’s my go-to when it comes to wearing something simple and classy. I love it against my skin tone because it makes my fingers look longer. I also like to use it when I want to show off accent nails to the fullest. The formula goes on fairly well, but takes a few coats to even out. I’m a huge fan of Deborah Lippmann polishes.

Essie I Am Strong
3 coats plus a top coat
This color is just one of my favorite perfect pinks to wear. I Am Strong is from Essie’s Breast Cancer Awareness collection and resonates with me for that reason. I am lucky that I was not diagnosed any further than having a benign fibroadenoma. You can read about my story here. The formula is great. It goes on extremely well and shouldn’t take more than 2-3 coats.

Essie’s I Am Strong will be harder to find, since it was part of a limited edition collection. Best options would be to find them on Amazon or Ebay.

China Glaze Sea Spray
2 coats plus a top coat
Daisy got me into buying China Glaze polishes, and I’ve found several that I had to have in my arsenal. Sea Spray is such a pretty soft greyish blue with a hint of pearl. I love the formula. It goes on really well since it’s quite opaque.

China Glaze Sea Spray is also from an older collection, but you can find it here.

China Glaze Sneaker Head
2 coats plus a top coat
I don’t wear reds too often. And most of time they’re reds that are almost reds. However, I couldn’t leave this one alone because of its name! My husband got me into sneakers, and I’ve been a sneaker head ever since. If you ever run into me, I’m most likely wearing a pair of Nike Air Jordans. :D Sneaker Head from the Kicks Collection is a great formula to wear. It goes on with just two coats. It’s a nice red also because it leans towards the cool side, sort of a cherry red.

OPI Teenage Dream
3 coats plus a top coat
Last but not least. When I saw Teenage Dream from the Katy Perry collection, I haddddddddd to have it. I was so in love with how pretty it looked! Lots of sparkle and lots of glitter packed into the polish, that it just shimmers in daylight. It’s a sheer glitter, so several coats will get you going. Or you even use it as a top coat over a light pink base. It’s definitely an easy enough glitter formula that you don’t have to do any maneuvering to get your nail coated.
