Shown: It’s Whipped Matte Lip Mousse in Ooh La La (L) and XOXO (R).
Of course what would Valentine’s Day be without some fun nails to show off!
As Daisy mentioned, Allison of Born Pretty sent us some items to review. This time around, I’ll be showing off a stamped look using their stamping tool and one of the plates that they carry. Just a note though, this is actually my first time attempting to stamp on my nails so I had a few hit and misses as I was learning how to use the tool. The idea is simple, it just takes a bit of practice to use.
The 2 piece Practical Nail Stamper and Scraper is item #15851, and the Nail Stamp Template I used is QA97 which is item #15613. More information available on their product pages. You can’t go wrong with the prices either because each of these are definitely affordable. But if you like a sweeter deal, you can get 10% off using our coupon code DGG10 at Born Pretty Store.
So there’s several designs on the plate. I attempted to try the cherries, but either the polish consistency wasn’t right or my technique just wasn’t working. I couldn’t get the cherries design onto my stamper. I then decided to move to the other grid-like design with a gold polish that I know works well. I managed to not have too many mess ups, but it takes a few tries. Overall the product does what it’s supposed to and I like having fun design options without freehanding everything.
I decided to try a variation on square nails instead of her pointed nails. (I don’t think I could last an entire day with pointy nails X_X). I am a huge fan of Lana. I don’t really understand all of her lyrics (I find some of them kind of humorous), but her voice is so soothing and beautiful I could listen to it all day. I don’t really aspire to be like her, but I am really inspired by her style and intentional artistic choices. I wish we could be best friends for life in real life.
Anyhow, I’m still listening to her newest CD ‘Ultraviolence’ on repeat. My favorites at the moment are ‘Brooklyn Baby’ and ‘West Coast (Radio Mix).’
I did these nails very quickly to participate in a Formula X sweepstakes they were holding on their Instagram. I actually realllllly love the look though and plan to wear a similar one to a wedding that I’m going to.
