Hello! Today I did a simple freehand manicure to compliment F.U.N. Lacquer Happy Ending. Happy Ending is a lovely blurple (blue x purple) holographic with tiny flecks of gold glitter. The color is beautiful and most stunning under direct light as shown in my photos. Just a small word of warning, this polish does contain glitter so like any other glitter polish, it may require some extra effort to remove. I did not experience any staining.
Today, we’ve partnered with Julep to bring you guys some potential wedding nail art looks. This was inspired by something blue. I’ve been gushing over the new Julep Shelly, from the Julep January 2015 Maven Box. It is such a perfect shade of robin’s egg blue. It’s a creme polish with a decent finish. The formula is pretty easy to work with if you use light coats between layers. Really really lovely shade of blue, so happy to add this one to my collection.
Monroe is a lovely deep burgundy scatter holo jelly. It is opaque in 2-3 coats, and dries shiny and flat! The swatch photos below are without a layer of top coat! This is not a glitter polish either, so it’s super easy to remove as well.
This is the second look of our wedding nail art set for Julep!
When I think of something new, I think of something that is more bold and non-traditional for a wedding manicure. I came across a really classy modern wedding cake and it reminded me of just that. I decided to recreate design as a manicure.
I painted each layer of the cake design on a different nail using a black, white, and gold color scheme. On my thumb is a hand-painted gold rose/floral pattern on white, on my index and pinky fingers is a black lattice pattern accented by a gold dot, a simple gold dotticure on my middle finger, and a single gold rose over white on my ring finger. This a little louder than the delicate look Rathy created for Something Old, but if you’re feeling like trying something new, maybe this is the look for you. :-)
Happy Chinese New Year everyone! :-) Hope you all were able to celebrate with friends or family. This is my third Chinese New Year away from home and this year we decided to do hot pot with a group a friends. For my nails I decided to do a look inspired by Fan Bing Bing’s outfit in The Empress of China. I haven’t seen the series yet, but the outfits look stunning! I’ve heard mixed reviews of the series so I’m a little hesitant to commit to watching it.
I also love the song that Jane Zhang sang for The Empress of China.
