Happy Chinese New Year everyone! :-) Hope you all were able to celebrate with friends or family. This is my third Chinese New Year away from home and this year we decided to do hot pot with a group a friends. For my nails I decided to do a look inspired by Fan Bing Bing’s outfit in The Empress of China. I haven’t seen the series yet, but the outfits look stunning! I’ve heard mixed reviews of the series so I’m a little hesitant to commit to watching it.
I also love the song that Jane Zhang sang for The Empress of China.
I just received these adorable Born Pretty Snowflake decals just in time for some cute winter nail art. These were delicate but sturdy decals, and I handled them mainly with a pair of tweezers. I did have to press them down a bit against my nail with an orange stick and sealed them with a nice layer of top coat.
I thought the gold would look nice against a soft almost white gray so I decided to go with this gorgeous piCture pOlish Lakodom, packed with a ton of subtle micro-glitter. It took me 3 coats to reach full opacity, the formula was easy to work with and did not clump up at all. Yet another excellent polish from the ladies at piCture pOlish
Happy Halloween everyone! To celebrate, I painted Coraline. I was almost going to dress up as her for Halloween since I already have a cheese-whiz yellow rain coat, but I’m missing the yellow rainboots and a blue wig. Maybe next year
I used ILNP Black Orchid, a beautiful plum holographic as my base and complimented it with piCture pOlish Honey Dew, a bright mint green. Orange really doesn’t suit my skin tone, so I try to find alternatives to painting Halloween themed looks without using orange too much.
For today’s nail art, I decided to start off with a base of the beautiful piCture pOlish Lagoon. It is a beautiful glitter/scatter holo mix suspended in turquoise. I love the depth of the glitter in this polish, the hex glitters add such a nice touch! It’s like little bubbles in the water.
To compliment this polish, I decided to paint the Little Mermaid and her buddy Flounder on top. I used some rhinestones from the bornprettystore (#7300). The package came with a number of colors but for this look I only used the dark blue as little bubbles.
