For today’s nail art, I decided to start off with a base of the beautiful piCture pOlish Lagoon. It is a beautiful glitter/scatter holo mix suspended in turquoise. I love the depth of the glitter in this polish, the hex glitters add such a nice touch! It’s like little bubbles in the water.
To compliment this polish, I decided to paint the Little Mermaid and her buddy Flounder on top. I used some rhinestones from the bornprettystore (#7300). The package came with a number of colors but for this look I only used the dark blue as little bubbles.

China Glaze Happy Go Lucky is a bright pure yellow cream. I used 3 coats here, but it was already pretty opaque by 2 coats. I love how vibrant this yellow is and how opaque it is. I might not wear this just on its own, but this will be perfect for nail art.
China Glaze Life is Rosy. This is a dusty rose cream from China Glaze’s Avant Garde collection. I’m using 3 coats in these pictures with a layer of top coat. Formula is pretty good, you could get away with 2 coats for full opacity. But I like using 3 coats to smooth the polish out. :-)

I had a pretty hard time trying to come up with a villain that had a yellow color scheme. It seems as if most villains have an outfit of red, blue, purple, green, or black & white. But! After much noodling, it finally came down to either the Despicable Me minions (which I’ve already painted here), or Meowth from Team Rocket. I thought, how perfect! Meowth would be pretty fun to paint because a) he’s a Pokemon, b) he’s a Pokemon, and you can never have enough Pokemon nail art. :-)
And no worries Hello Kitty, Meowth understands how you feel. He too (at least Team Rocket’s Meowth), believes he’s not a cat and that he’s human.
Today I recreated Wendy’s (of Wendy’s Lookbook) Floral Sunshine. I frequently visit her blog for inspiration. She has really creative and sophisticated pairings, and her videos are pretty entertaining.
I’m using Julep Brandt as my base for the florals, it’s almost black but not quite there. It served as a nice base for the peachy and soft yellow colors (Julep Saaya, China Glaze Papaya Punch, & China Glaze Lemon Fizz). In Wendy’s look, she paired floral shorts with a bright yellow top, bright red heels, and gold accessories. Here I have Julep Lexie on my index and pinkie fingers with a sliver of gold (Julep Sienna), and a punch of red on my thumb.
